Teacher Training at Village Yoga

Seek more of what you love. Embody your potential. Deepen your practice.

2025-2026 Program starts December

Anamyn T., 2024-2025 TT Student

"I have been intrigued by Village Yoga since I began here, and now, Teacher Training with Cath & Sam has given me a "peek under the hood" of deep their knowledge and understanding of yoga and its underpinnings. I'm feeling very awed by them both. Truly amazed and wowed. So so so grateful.”

You probably landed on this page because you LOVE yoga.

Likely, you’ve had a moving experience on your mat that has made a lasting imprint on you —

  • a sense of JOY in your body, a feeling of being at home in yourself, and access to an inner strength and steadiness when you practice;

  • presence, attention, focus and a feeling of being in flow with exactly what the moment has to offer;

  • a cathartic cry in pigeon pose and the deep peace that comes only with a sense of embodied surrender;

  • an idea or problem that got unlocked or solved the moment you stepped off your mat;

  • a feeling of connection and belonging to yourself, to the warmth of the community around you, and a confidence that you have unique gifts and talents to share with the world around you.

If any of this sounds familiar, we’re so happy you’re here. Keep reading…

For some of you, the vision is VERY clear: “I want to teach yoga.” Or “I want to integrate this practice of mindfulness into the work I’m already doing and the communities I am already a part of.” Or “I’ve been saying this for years and it’s finally time to do my yoga teacher training!”

For others, it’s a less specific, but still potent and REAL sense of “It’s time for a change. I want more presence, more connection, more embodiment, more grace. I’m ready to go deeper into who I am and what I came here to do.”

Yoga Teacher Training is an unparalleled opportunity for all of this: The chance to do inner work in community. To expand your sense of self, to explore the depth and breadth of the gifts you have and how you might offer them to this world. To integrate yoga and an overall healthier, more connected & purposeful lifestyle into your everyday. To learn the tools and the skills of sharing this practice you love. To lead your own yoga classes, meditation circles, and mindful experiences. To devote your time, attention, and energy into diving deep into a practice you already love.

We are THRILLED to share with you this invitation —

Village Yoga’s next Teacher Training and Yearlong Immersion program begins December 2025, and we would love to have you join us.

Our current program is in progress. Use the link below to join the waitlist for the 2025-2026 program starting this December

Let this be clear:
We are ALL teachers.

Even if you never step foot in front of a yoga studio classroom to teach (though, don’t be surprised if suddenly find yourself midway through teacher training with a strong urge to teach ;)), you are teaching in every single moment. It’s how you walk into the room. How you shape the energy around you. How you make people feel. Your reactions and your responses. Your space holding and community creating and change making. All of us are walking the path of a teacher as we walk through this world.

Village Yoga’s
Teacher Training
is for you if —

Good things take time.

Village Yoga’s Teacher Training unfolds over a yearlong container of deep transformation and change — with builtin space and time to let you steep in the material, integrate information into your everyday experience, and also respect the flow of your everyday work, life, and schedule.

Our immersive year together will give you the foundation of inspiring & enriching tools you will use for a life time.

Meet your guides:

Sam Breschi & Catherine Zack are the literal mom & pop behind Village Yoga. We actually met in a yoga class, our second date was on a yoga retreat in Costa Rica and we took our own 500-hour advanced yoga teacher training together in 2013 (if you look really hard, you’ll see a very young Sam & Cath sitting as students in that teacher training in the pictures below!).

We’ve been partners in life, marriage, family, yoga and business for over 10 years now, leading Teacher Trainings in Washington, DC, at our first yoga home Flow Yoga Center, beginning in 2016, before relocating to the Hudson Valley in 2020.

Since we opened the doors to Village Yoga in the summer of 2023, we’ve been co-creating (alongside YOU!) a community dedicated to “everyday practice.” The devotion, energy, and inspiration of this community in this first year makes us THRILLED to launch the inaugural Village Yoga Teacher Training in 2025.

With our world-class roster of an extended teaching team, including our own teacher Simon Park, and guest appearances from your favorite VY teachers (did you know Samar Ayyub is a graduate of our 2019-2020 Teacher Training?!?!).

Our mission is to create a heartbeat and a hub of ongoing education in yoga, meditation, and mindfulness right in the heart of Kinderhook with the hope that our little Hudson Valley home will have a ripple effect in our local communities and beyond!

“My YTT with Cath & Sam was well worth all the time and investment. I have participated in many teacher trainings and workshops and I still find myself comparing them to what Cath & Sam provided. Their synergy, knowledge, fun, care, and compassion allowed my practice to grow exponentially. Their attention spent nurturing their craft & the human condition are an absolute rarity to find. If you’re lucky enough to find it, you treasure it for a lifetime.”

“Obviously do it, I mean look at me now! :)

Seriously, I first took class with Sam a couple of years before I did TT with Cath & Sam. And I received this assist in triangle pose that made SO much sense. I had never been adjusted by a teacher in a way that actually taught me something about the pose and myself. That stuck with me and I knew Sam had such great knowledge, I was really going to learn something deep. When Cath & Sam launched their 300-hour training a few years later, THAT memory made me sign up right away. I’ve done countless hours of intensive training with both Cath & Sam and it’s why I teach the way I teach now!”

What Our Graduates Are Saying:

“I left training understanding my body and how my body operates better. All our different conversations about energy and the subtle body taught me so much – I still lean on these lessons daily to inform my practice, my teaching, my work, my down time, the seasons.”

“One of my favorite memories of YTT was Cath reading from The Radiant Sutras by Loren Roche, PhD, while we were resting in restorative yoga.  Her voice evoked kindness, love, comfort, and community.  Cath continually offered space for us to learn & grow individually, while still having a very welcoming, safe, and cohesive environment.  Being able to hold space like that is art.”

“I loved that even though the days are long, Cath and Sam set up them up in such a way that there was enough down time and we had a lot of fun. They read the room really well and knew how to balance lecture time with uplifting group and partner work. Cath and Sam kept it interesting and fun.”

“I drove 90 miles to DC every YTT weekend in 2019-2020 and would do it again, because Cath & Sam are the teachers you will not find ‘just anywhere.’”

“I was looking for more yoga anatomy & assisting education after my 200 hr YTT, and found a workshop with Cath & Sam through a Google search.  After spending extra time breaking down Chaturanga in class, I really felt that Sam understood how to guide people safely in their own anatomy.  I signed up for Cath & Sam's 300 hr YTT a few months later & to my delight, the weeks of anatomy were full of valuable information that I utilize daily in my personal and teaching practice.  With a clinical healthcare background, I had high expectations regarding the anatomy & physiology weekends and Sam exceeded all of them.  Their YTT continues to be the most comprehensive training I've had.”

Spend more time doing what you love.

We believe that yoga gives us access to the most “extraordinary ordinary” parts of being alive: presence, connection, vitality, love. It’s why we call our signature class at Village Yoga the “everyday practice” — a bread & butter daily quality to it (that’s the “ordinary” bit) makes accessible the most nourishing, vital bits of simply BEing here in this lifetime (the “extraordinary”!). There’s no perfect time to dive deeper into the next stage, but we think today is as good a place as any to start.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
