FAQS

Where are you located?

We’re nestled right in the heart of the upper Hudson Valley at 6 Hudson Street, Kinderhook, NY 12106 on the second & third floors. You’ll spot our golden door at street level. If you’re driving, please park in the public parking right in front of our door on Hudson Street, in the public parking lot across the street in front of the Post Office, or any other street parking available.

You can also join us online anytime from anywhere in our Virtual Village Yoga studio — we livestream 10 classes a week from our Kinderhook studio or you can access our virtual library of recorded classes. Access to our virtual studio is available on any of our passes — we also offer the Founding Virtual Membership for unlimited virtual-only access to our classes and community. We can’t wait to “see” you there.

What do I need to bring / wear? / Do I need my own yoga mat?

Wear comfortable, clean clothes that you can move in and feel good in. You don’t need special gear. We practice without shoes (even meditation!). You’re welcome to wear socks if that’s more comfortable for you. No big deal. (but socks can be a bit slippery!).
Please refrain from wearing strong scents and perfumes — we’re sharing space together and everyone has different sensitivities — so thank you for being considerate.

How early should I get there?

We recommend coming 10 minutes before class, especially if it’s your first time here. Or if it’s one of our peak classes / times of years (that’s M, W, F at 8:30am and all our weekend classes!).

What if I’m running late for class?

Please plan on arriving 10 minutes or so before class (especially for busy weekend & other peak classes, especially in busy times of year like the summer!). If you’re not present at the appointed class start time, we cannot guarantee you a spot in class (some classes have in-studio waitlists that we will open up at class start time if there is space and it is our policy to lock the front door at class start time if there is not front desk staff on hand). Thanks for understanding that we are a small studio with limited spots in each class and a small but mighty staff / teaching team!

What’s your cancellation / no-show policy?

We’re a small studio with a limited number of spaces per class. Weekend classes at peak times of year typically fill up and run waitlists. Each reservation you make makes a difference! Our cancellation window is 2-hours before the start time of each class. Please log into to your account to cancel yourself or send us an email at hello@villageyoga.co (we’ll catch the time stamp on your message). If you cancel more that 2 hours before the start time of class and are on a class pass or the Essential Membership this is considered an “early cancel” and the class will go back on your class pack / membership. If you cancel within the 2-hour window before each class (“late cancel”) or don’t show up (“no show”) and are on a class pass or the Essential Membership, you will forfeit that class. Monthly unlimited members don’t face the same penalty, but after 3 no-shows, we’ll reserve the right to suspend your reservation abilities during our peak class times (weekends / summer). Thanks for understanding and helping make space for each other!

What’s your refund policy?

We’re a small studio with a limited number of spaces per class. Each class you book makes a difference! All sales are final (though, we get life happens and we’re typically willing to work with you on assigning an account credit, etc. in special cases). Please email hello@villageyoga.co with questions about your account.
