Costa Rica Retreat
February 1-8, 2025
Join Cath & Sam for a weeklong retreat to one of our favorite spots in the world.
We led our first retreat to Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula in 2015. And we simply can’t stay away. Our favorite spot to unplug, take slow walks, bob in the buoyant warm water or catch a wave on the Osa’s world-famous surf break — we love that the Osa is this magical place where the jungle meets the rocky beach, down a long dirt road (leaving it largely untouched, undisturbed, and quiet — except for the monkeys!).
Mark the beginning of each day with a luxuriously spacious and unhurried yoga practice on the outdoor yoga deck. Enjoy 3 meals a day with local, fresh food and juices. Hike the waterfalls. Ride horses on the beach. Nap in a hammock. Enjoy community and luxurious, quiet alone time. Take a dip in the pool, cool down in the lounge (there’s AC!), nap in the hammock. We’ll wind down each day with a mix of (optional) second-practice offerings (think thai massage & partner yoga with Sam, restorative yoga & meditation with Cath) — your time will be the perfect balance of structure and space.
A week’s worth of rest & relaxation on the Osa will juice you up for the rest of winter (and maybe even the whole year!).
Our space is VERY limited (we’re opening up 14 spots on this retreat to with us at the gorgeous Clandestina Osa). Please fill out the form if you’re interested in booking a spot and we’ll get back to you in the order we receive your inquiries!

All suites and cabinas are appointed with a desk for journaling or other writing, a balcony with hammock to enjoy naps or a good read, and a modern bathroom with hot water to ease the body after a session on the waves or yoga overlooking the jungle. Energy efficient, modern overhead fans (Haiku from BAF) keep the rooms cool and fresh. Four hypoallergenic pillows ensure deep, restorative sleep. Cabinas equipped with AC and solar hot water.
Getting There —
Our retreat will be hosted at Clandestina, located in the Southwest portion of Costa Rica at the very tip of the Osa Peninsula. The area is known as Cabo Matapalo, and is 18km South of the town of Puerto Jimenez.
RECOMMENDED TRAVEL:
International travelers should fly into San Jose’s Juan Santamaria Airport (SJO). United Airlines offers a nonstop flight from Newark (EWR), while Delta has a nonstop from Los Angeles (LAX). Iberia has nonstop flights from Madrid (MAD), while other European flights generally route through Miami, FL (MIA) or Panama City, Panama (PTY). Keep in mind that your return flight options are limited by the early morning domestic flights.
For domestic travel from SJO to Puerto Jimenez (PJM), select either Sansa Airlines or Skyway (both located in a separate and brand new domestic terminal which is a 5 minute walk or 2 minute cab ride from SJO). Tickets range from $240 - $320 round trip, depending on season and availability. We will happily assist you with booking so that you can safely make your connections.
Once you land in Puerto Jimenez, we will have transport waiting for you. Local, licensed cab drivers provide 4x4 transport for up to 5 people and luggage for approximately $50 total each way. The ride from airstrip to lodge is approximately 35 minutes along a dirt road.
Driving from San Jose takes approximately 7 hours with stops, and any number of international rental car companies provide car options. Make your reservation online with the agency of your choice, and after you clear immigration and baggage claim/customs, go to the appropriate kiosk and a representative will assist you and shuttle you to your vehicle. Remember that driving in Costa Rica involves roads and signage that is below first world standards and we strongly suggest that you travel within the speed limits and during daylight hours. For directions, Waze and Google Maps are best, and our location is available in both apps.
